Best Leading Actress winner Emma

Not to be outdone by the festivities of last night's Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, cinema's best and brightest flocked en masse to Royal Albert Hall in London for the British Academy Film Awards on Sunday evening. The ceremony is one of the biggest nights of the year for the entertainment industry, and our friends across the pond did not disappoint with their red carpet looks.

Best Leading Actress winner Emma Stone quite literally shone in Chanel Haute Couture while "Girl On the Train" actress Emily Blunt radiated strength with the help of a Sarah Burton-designed Alexander McQueen gown. Meanwhile, Naomie Harris and Anya Taylor-Joy opted for eccentric ensembles courtesy of Gucci and Michelle Williams opted yet again for a short, embellished dress from Louis Vuitton. (Hey, if it ain't broke?) All in all, it was an evening full of "wow" sartorial moments — intricate embroidery and oversize rosettes tend to have that effect.

Check out our favorite looks from the 2017 BAFTAs in the gallery below.
